To enter kindergarten a child must be five (5) years of age on or before October 15 of the year he/she is to enter school.  All children shall have State-required vaccinations and a preschool physical prior to enrollment.  To enter Grade One, a child must be five (5) years of age on or before October 15 of the school year.  An exception may be made to this requirement by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

Children who will reach six (6) years of age on or before October 15 of the school year and who have not completed a kindergarten program shall be enrolled upon entrance to school in a kindergarten program.  As a result of the teacher’s and parents’ judgment, test results and the child’s performance, it will be determined whether the child will remain in Kindergarten or will be enrolled in Grade One.
